It Takes A Village Festival 2020 Statement
It Takes A Village was due to take place this coming May 8th-10th 2020.
Unfortunately due to the ongoing situation with Covid-19 we are forced to postpone this year’s festival and reschedule for May 2021. As none of us know how long this pandemic will continue on for we felt it was prudent to make this call now. We were really looking forward to this year’s festival so we are hoping most of the acts both Irish and international will join us again in 2021. The feedback from all acts is very positive about joining us next year. They are in the same boat as us, caught in the doldrums in this sea of uncertainty. We are all in this together.
We had hoped that the situation in Ireland and around the world would have improved by the beginning of May but as we all know there is no clarity on this. In these uncertain times we feel that many acts might not want to or be able to travel from the U.S, U.K or Europe. Irish acts also might have issues with social proximity. Our loyal villagers and new found friends that were due to join us on this third instalment of It Takes A Village might not feel comfortable socialising for many months to come.
Having made the decision to postpone we now look forward with positivity 2021.
The new date for It Takes A Village is:
May 7th – 9th 2021
Trabolgan Holiday Village, Cork
We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the postponement but sadly this one is out of our hands and in the lap of the Gods.
This is tough for us. We’re a small independent festival and this has hit us hard obviously. To say we are disappointed is an understatement. But as mentioned above we are approaching this with positivity.
We now have an extra year to make the third instalment of ITAV the best it has been. We had some great new plans for 2020, we will now build on these for 2021 and promise to come back even stronger than before.
Over the past two festivals we’ve built a lovely little community and many of you have been with us from the beginning. We’re really hoping that you’ll hang tough and stay with us for next year too. For all of you that have already booked your tickets we have a couple of options:
Get a full refund and cancel your booking for 2021. We understand that there are certain groups and international travellers who just won’t be able to make it next year and that’s completely understandable. To receive your refund please email firstname.lastname@example.org before August 31st 2020 and we will cancel your order and refund your tickets.
We would like to thank all of our staff, and the staff at Trabolgan for their work and support in this unprecedented time.
